K3 Sensory Play: Shaving Cream Fun!
Today in K3, we had a blast with sensory play using shaving cream! First, we mixed different colors in the shaving cream and watched as new colors appeared—red and blue made purple, and yellow and green turned into a fun new shade! As we explored, we engaged our senses of touch, smell, and sight. The smooth texture of the shaving cream felt cool and soft, the scent filled the room with a fresh, clean aroma, and the vibrant colors were a treat for the eyes.
Next, we hid plastic vowels in the shaving cream for the kids to find. As they discovered each letter, they practiced saying its name and sound. Then, we traced vowels with our fingers on the table, reinforcing their shapes and sounds in a fun, hands-on way.
This activity helped the children practice fine motor skills, letter recognition, and creativity—all while having so much fun! It was a wonderful day of learning through play.
