K3 Students Celebrate Pet Adoption Day!
Dear Parents,
Our K3 students have been having a wonderful time learning about the responsibilities that come with pet ownership, and we’re excited to share some of the fun activities we’ve been doing to explore this topic!
To kick things off, we held a “Pet Adoption Day” in our classroom! Each child adopted a stuffed animal pet of their choice, and they received a certificate to proudly sign, promising to take care of their new furry friend. The certificates encouraged them to commit to feeding their pets, taking them to the vet, and ensuring their overall well-being—just like real pet owners do!
After adopting their new pets, the children took part in a creative cooking class where they made “pet food” for their stuffed animals. This hands-on activity gave them the chance to get creative in the kitchen, and working sensory play.
Throughout these activities, the children have been learning about the various types of pets we can have at home and what they need to stay happy and healthy. It’s been a great opportunity to discuss the differences between pets, their diets, and how we can be responsible pet owners.
We look forward to continuing our exploration of pets and the important lessons that come with being kind and responsible caretakers.
