This week in K3, our little learners engaged in a variety of sensory activities that not only stimulated their senses but also helped strengthen their fine motor skills. Here’s a look at what we explored:
1. Dinosaur Egg Discovery
The children had a blast excavating “dinosaur eggs” made from frozen ice. They used warm water to melt the ice and release the animals inside. This activity allowed them to explore different water temperatures while developing their hand muscles by pouring and manipulating the water to melt the ice.
2. Spaghetti Sensory Exploration
We also explored cooked spaghetti, allowing the children to feel its texture and experiment with different colors. They loved squishing, twirling, and pulling apart the noodles, which helped strengthen their hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
3. Magic Painting with Towels
In this activity, the children used a dropper to add liquid paint to towel paper. This fine motor exercise helped them practice precision while also allowing them to explore different colors and textures as the paint spread across the fabric.
These hands-on activities helped our preschoolers develop the fine motor skills needed for everyday tasks, all while having fun with sensory exploration!
