National Honor Society

ABOUT THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

In 1921 The Association of Secondary School Principals of the United States NASSP, officially established the Honor Society, which is noted for its long history and support of high school students.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier orgnization created to recognize outstanding high school students. More than an honor roll, the NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

The National Honor Society recognizes high school steudents who are outstanding, exceptional and for having commitment to the school community.

The NHS welcomes students who meet the requirements for membership, can jin the society for leadership experience, service, college readiness and for having a commitment to the scool community.

The NHS has four fundamental pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership and character, by wich its member are evaluated each term.

Upon selection and induction, each member is expected to uphold the chapter standards that led to their selection and to assume certain obligations in accordance to the CBC Handbook of Conduct and the Constitution of the NHS of the United States.
