This past week, our K5 students had an exciting time learning about shadows and reflections! 🌞🔍 We explored the differences between the two and experimented with how shadows change depending on the light source.
One of the highlights of our study was taking our learning outside! 🌳☀️ The kids had so much fun using sunlight to create different shadow shapes—from stretching their arms like superheroes 🦸♂️ to making silly poses with their friends 😆. We also used classroom objects 🧸📚 and toys 🏀🚗 to observe how their shadows formed and changed as we moved them around.
hrough these hands-on activities, the children discovered that shadows are created when an object blocks light, while reflections appear when light bounces off a surface like a mirror or water. 🪞💡 It was a wonderful way to connect science with play, sparking curiosity and excitement in our young learners. 🎉
